My Story

My name is Sharon. Middle name, Lee. Hence, the name Lee's Craft Corner.

Ever since I was a small child, I've dove into many different crafts. I've done decoupage, wood working, painting, jewelry making, paper quilling, tie dyeing, and the list goes on. But I wanted to get "serious" about it and make things that looked professional.

I started a Facebook Page in 2018 when I purchased my first Cricut machine with the intention to show off my creations. With my Cricut, I entered a world of crafting that I never even imagined before. The possibility of turning my passion for creating, into a business was something I had only ever dreamed of. But now? Now, I could see it as a reality.

Since 2018, I've made many things for people with my machine from cards, to shirts, to sticker decals. As time went on, I started to see an over saturation of "Cricut made" items. It became so mainstream and boring to me. I wanted to try things that required my hands again, rather than plug-and-play, letting the machine and computer do all the work.

I decided in 2021 that I would look for a new craft to try each New Year (paper quilling 2021, watercolor painting 2022, acrylic painting 2023, and crochet 2024). Each craft has taken up its space in my free time for the majority of each year.

Fast forward to Spring 2024. I found out from my own experience that the liquid, store bought soap I was using on my body wasn't good for me. It was causing me issues with my health and skin. I started to investigate the ingredients. I came to the conclusion that I wanted to be "in the know" of what is in my soap.

Soap Making enters the scene.

I started diving in, watching videos, reading books, reading blogs, and talking to market vendors. I wanted to learn all about it. One day, I finally gave it go and made my first batch of unscented soap. It was a success! My loved ones and I loved it! I've made some soap other batches since then and have enjoyed the journey of growth with each batch.

I thought, "I could combine some of my other arts such as crochet to this soap making gig and make it a multifaceted experience". So I've done just that! Today, I am selling my soap bars and soap loofah bags, to give the best of both worlds.

I love to create and will continuing doing so as long as I am capable.

Thank you for being here!
